The module “Examples of themes STEAM & Interdisciplinary Problems Based Learning styled designer – hands-on” aims to introduce teachers to tools and exchanges about the implementing STEAM in the classroom. The course is designed in response to the increasing challenges faced by educators around the world to accommodate the rising importance of STEAM education and technology in education and the impact this has on teaching and learning. The module covers four themes:
- How to create STEAM Team for educators & students
- What is modern methodologies and the relation with STEAM?
- Lesson plan creation/assessment/expansion
- Thinking skills at school
which introduce you to key themes like STEM activities planning, teamwork, develop a compilation of resources to use right away, create and implement new tools and teaching-learning methods in the classroom and allow you to exchange with your peers about your own experiences of trying out new activities and technologies in the classroom. You will discover how to integrate arts standards into the STEAM content areas through Project-based and problem-based Learning framework to truly build an authentic STEAM teaching approach. As the assessment for students’ evaluation, the participants will be invited to produce it, using online tools in order to facilitate their daily work.
The module consists of the theoretical part, examples of good practices, activities and independent work, questionnaires for participants and takes around 7 hours.
Also in the module, you will find lots of ICT tools for collaborative problem solving, assessment of students’ achievements, creating the thinking and visual maps.
During the course you will also reflect and discuss the role of technology tools in the future classroom and your current teaching and learning environments. A number of tools are introduced which help the process of innovation in the school and classroom but are equally useful for your everyday teaching practices.
The course is created by teachers for teachers. At the end of the course you will receive an electronic badge of participation.
